About

The ClimAct2Adapt international conference is organised within the framework of the EU-funded LIFE LOGOS 4 WATERS project entitled ‘In cooperation for climate-conscious river basin management’, which was launched in 2021. The conference will take place on 8–9 October 2025 at the Szent Adalbert Conference Center in Esztergom, Hungary.
The four-year LIFE LOGOS 4 WATERS project focuses on developing and promoting nature-based solutions (NbS) for adaptive water management. Its main objectives are to enhance the water retention capacity of municipalities and their catchments and strengthen their resilience against extreme weather events. To achieve this, the project supports effective climate change adaptation by testing natural water retention measures (NWRM) on catchment level, raising awareness, and facilitating knowledge transfer. Through innovative good practices and stakeholder collaboration, it aims to restore hydrological balance, reduce drought and flood risks, and foster sustainable water governance.
The conference seeks to bring together policymakers, researchers, practitioners, municipalities, and civil society to encourage knowledge exchange and cooperation for climate adaptation and resilience building. With a special emphasis on nature-based solutions, community engagement, and sustainable water management, ClimAct2Adapt provides a dynamic platform for sharing actionable solutions to the pressing challenges posed by climate change.
The event features a diverse programme designed to promote active participation and meaningful dialogue, including:
- Keynote presentations by leading experts offering strategic insights and the latest research findings;
- Interactive plenary panels facilitating high-level discussions among stakeholders from different sectors;
- Parallel workshop sessions enabling in-depth exploration of thematic topics, hands-on case studies, and best practice exchange;
- Roundtable discussions encouraging collaborative problem-solving and cross-sectoral dialogue;
- Networking opportunities designed to foster connections, partnerships, and community building;
- Field visits showcasing real-world examples of nature-based climate adaptation in practice;
- and a cultural programme offering a taste of Hungary’s heritage and traditions through local cultural activities.
By blending scientific knowledge with practical experience and policy perspectives, ClimAct2Adapt aims to inspire innovative, cross-disciplinary solutions that advance climate resilience across Europe.
