How to reach the Venue

The Conference is hosted at the Szent Adalbert Centre (Hungary, Esztergom, Szent István tér 10, 2500).

Szent Adalbert Centre (Szent Adalbert Központ) located in the historical district of Esztergom, embraced by the Basilica and the Danube. By Plane

Budapest's Liszt Ferenc International Airport is approximately 85 km from Esztergom via the motorway and can be reached in about one and a half hours, either by shuttle buses or private vehicles. The airport offers daily connections to several European and international cities, served by major international airlines.
From Liszt Ferenc International Airport, there are several options to reach the city center, from where you can take a bus or train to Esztergom. See details in the train and bus descriptions.

By Train

  • Total travel time: approx. 2 to 2.5 hours
  • Check the train schedule in advance for optimal connection.

There is a good rail connection between Budapest and Esztergom. Trains with the Z72 code depart from Nyugati Railway Station (Nyugati Pályaudvar) (along Metro Line M3) to Esztergom multiple times a day. The travel time between the two cities is approximately 1 hour and 5 minutes. Tickets can be purchased via the MÁV app, the website, or at ticket offices and vending machines. 

  • 100E Airport Bus
    Take the 100E direct shuttle bus from the airport to Deák Ferenc Square.
  • Metro Line M3 (Blue)
    From Deák Ferenc Square transfer to Metro Line M3 („Blue Metro”) to Nyugati Railway Station.
  • Train to Esztergom
    From Nyugati Railway Station, take a regional train (ex. the train with Z72 code as mentioned above) to Esztergom.
  • 200E Bus
    Take the 200E bus from the airport to Kőbánya-Kispest Station.
  • Metro Line M3 (Blue)
    From Kőbánya-Kispest Station take Metro Line M3 („Blue Metro”) to Nyugati Railway Station.
  • Train to Esztergom
    From Nyugati Railway Station, take a regional train (ex. the train with Z72 code as mentioned above) to Esztergom.

By Bus

  • Total travel time: approx. 2.5 hours
  • Bus schedules may vary, especially on weekends.

A long-distance bus from the Árpád híd Bus Station (Árpád híd autóbusz-állomás) (along Metro Line M3) with the 800 bus line. The travel time is approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. Tickets also can be purchased via the MÁV app or the website.

    From Deák Ferenc Square go to Göncz Árpád Metro Station by Metro Line M3.

    At Árpád híd Bus Station take a regional or long-distance bus (use the 800 bus line) to Esztergom (Bus terminal stop).

    Take the 200E bus from the airport to Kőbánya-Kispest Station.
  • Metro Line M3 („Blue Metro”)
    From Kőbánya-Kispest Station travel to Göncz Árpád Metro Station by Metro Line M3.

    From Göncz Árpád Metro Station reach Árpád-híd Bus Station.

    At Árpád híd Bus Station take a regional or long-distance bus (use the 800 bus line) to Esztergom (Bus terminal stop).

By Taxi

If traveling by taxi within Budapest, we recommend the services of Főtaxi, UBER, and Bolt. All three have apps that provide fare estimates. If traveling by taxi to outside of Budapest, we recommend using Főtaxi or UBER. The trip from the airport to Esztergom is approximately 85 km and takes 1–1.5 hours. In Esztergom, several local taxi companies operate with phone-based dispatch services. Taxis can be ordered by phone, and some companies also accept orders via mobile apps or websites. We recommend Taxi Esztergom and Esztergom Taxi 1000.

Public Transport

A long-distance bus from the Árpád híd Bus Station (Árpád híd autóbusz-állomás) (along Metro Line M3) with the 800 bus line. The travel time is approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. Tickets also can be purchased via the MÁV app or the website.

Budapest has a well-developed and efficient public transportation network, including buses, trams, trolleybuses, metro lines, and suburban trains (HÉV). You can buy tickets: via the BudapestGO app (available for iOS and Android) and from ticket vending machines at metro stations, major stops, or transport hubs.

    Valid for one ride after validation
  • Block of 10 tickets
    The block of ten tickets contains 10 single tickets. 
  • Airport shuttle bus single ticket
    Valid for a single, uninterrupted one-way trip on the 100E Airport Express bus line operating between Budapest city centre and Liszt Ferenc International Airport. Please note that this ticket does not entitle you to transfer to or travel on other lines. Other tickets or passes cannot be used on 100E Airport Express.
  • Time-based ticket
    30 or 90-minute options available, allowing unlimited travel within the time frame and 24-hour or 72-hour Budapest-travelcard.

In Esztergom, the train station and the bus terminal are located together at the same site. The venue can be reached from there by several local bus lines in about 20 minutes.

Ticket purchase: Local buses can be used with an Esztergom day ticket. Tickets can be purchased via the MÁV app, the website, from vending machines, or from the driver.
